Nike just released the M2K Tekno “Techno Future” shoe, further enabling dads everywhere with another chunky-soled throwback shoe. Fans of the brand’s Air Monarch, which dropped in 2002, should appreciate this
nike m2k tekno black volt latest iteration of the cult classic, which brings the same chill, do-anything vibe to a shoe with a slightly narrower profile.Less of a running shoe than a rest-day comfort shoe, the new Techno Future has a lightweight foam midsole and ultra-plush cushioning for kicking back and not stressing the hill repeats listed for tomorrow on your training plan.
To be fair, you could run in
Top Quality this shoe and enjoy a Hoka-level pillowy softness beneath your foot, but the primary function of any Air Monarch descendant isn’t to help you run—it’s to deliver maximum comfort to anyone who either A. doesn’t care about fashion at all, or B. cares a lot and has convinced himself he has enough “dad swag” to pull off the look. Either way, these shoes are an excellent value and hearken back to the bulkier, less-specialized look of so many of our first running shoes.
