If the early talk around FC 27 is even close to right, squad building could feel very different this year. Not just a few menu tweaks, either. We're talking about systems that change how you use fodder, chase rewards, and keep lower-rated cards relevant for longer. Players who like getting ahead in the first few weeks will be watching the market closely, and some will look for FC 27 Coins to speed up upgrades when prices start moving fast. That said, the bigger story is how EA seems to be trying to make the grind less clunky and a bit more personal.

SBCs could finally feel less painful
The biggest rumour is the new SBC points system. Right now, big challenges can feel like homework. You build one squad, then another, then another, and before long you're buying random 84s and 85s just to tick a box. The new idea sounds cleaner. Every card would carry a point value, and an SBC would ask you to reach a target number instead of forcing you into several fixed squad screens. If it works well, you won't spend half the evening checking chemistry, rating gaps, and awkward requirements. You'll just feed the system with value. It also sounds useful for pack grinders, because duplicate cards may become much less annoying. Instead of throwing them away or rushing into a bad SBC, you could turn them into progress.

The gallery gives collectors a real reason to care
The gallery feature might not sound wild at first, but it could be one of those things that quietly changes daily play. Think of it like a permanent collection book. Once you send a card into the gallery, it stays registered, even if that item later gets sold, quick-sold, or used somewhere else. That matters. A lot of players enjoy collecting cards, but in Ultimate Team there's always been a weird tension between keeping fun items and using them as fodder. This system may ease that pressure. Better card grades could unlock better rewards too, such as packs, coins, or cosmetics. It gives casual players something steady to chase, while hardcore players will probably try to complete sections as early as possible.

Evolutions may stop every card feeling the same
Evolutions have been a smart idea, but they've had a problem. Too many upgraded players ended up looking similar. Same boosts, same style, same end result. FC 27's reported evolution paths could fix that. You might take one midfielder down a passing route, while someone else turns the same base card into a stronger runner or better finisher. That's the sort of choice people actually talk about. It also helps Road to Glory saves, because your favourite low-rated player doesn't have to follow the exact same path as everyone else's. You'll make small calls, and those calls should show up on the pitch.

Why these changes matter for regular players
What stands out here is that all three features point in the same direction: less wasted time, more control, and more reasons to use the cards sitting in your club. SBC points could make menus faster. The gallery could make collecting feel worthwhile. Evolution paths could bring back a bit of personality to squads that often get too meta too quickly. Of course, the market will still be fierce, especially in the opening weeks, and some players will use Fut 27 Coins when they want to move faster than the grind allows, but the real win would be a game where smart planning matters as much as raw spending power.
