If you’ve been playing Forza Horizon 6, you may have run into random crashes, freezes, or pauses. Many Xbox Series X|S players have reported sudden game exits or the game freezing while audio continues. Fortunately, there are practical ways to address these issues.

Turn Off Quick Resume

The Quick Resume feature, while convenient, is often the culprit behind infinite loading loops and unexpected crashes in Forza Horizon 6. Disabling it for the game can prevent many of these problems:

Adjust Video and Audio Settings

Heavy graphics loads or advanced display features can push hardware limits, sometimes leading to crashes:

Disable Dolby Vision: Go to Settings > General > TV & display options > Video modes, and uncheck Allow Dolby Vision.
Switch to Performance Mode: Inside Forza Horizon 6, change the graphics preset from Quality to Performance. This reduces strain on the GPU and can stabilize gameplay.

Lowering these settings doesn’t just prevent crashes—it can also improve frame rate and responsiveness during races.

Maintain Proper Ventilation

Overheating is a subtle but common cause of in-game crashes:

Use compressed air to clear dust from the console vents.
Ensure there’s at least 4–6 inches of open space around your Xbox for airflow.
Avoid placing the console in enclosed spaces or stacking other devices on top.

Keeping your console cool ensures smoother performance and fewer random shutdowns or freezes.
