It’s been QB, QB, QB this week, but JP Finlay reports that San Diego State University TE Kahale Warring will be working out for the Redskins today. Warring, 6’5” 252 lbs, started playing football in 2014 as a senior in high school. He played multiple sports, including water polo before trying football. He then walked on at SDSU, and made the team. His two best season came in 2017(18 receptions, 248 yards, 3TDs) and 2018(31 receptions, 372 yards, 3TDs).The Redskins have the highest amount of cap dollars invested in the TE position this year.s in a season, or appeared in 14. Vernon Davis is entering his 4th year with the Redskins, and had his worst year with the team last season. Jeremy Sprinkle has been just a guy, and is going into his 3rd year. Reed is the team’s best receiver when he’s on the field, and he’s not likely to go anywhere. Davis saves the team almost $5 million if he’s cut, and could be on the chopping block if someone like Warring is picked in 3 weeks.NFL.com Draft Profile:StrengthsChiseled, athletic frame with very good sizeHas blocking toughness and just needs to improve techniqueSnaps hands and hips into engagementGood radar in space as move-blockerRaces off snap and into seam with plus accelerationEarly speed to lose linebackersNifty

It’s hard to say, but you never know without asking...right?If reports are true, the Redskins will look to upgrade the wide receiving corps this spring in the NFL draft. Depending on if and how they acquire a new signal caller, that upgrade could come in the earlier rounds.Doctson, who is entering the fourth year of his rookie contract, missed all but two games of his rookie season due to injury. The last two seasons, both of which fans thought he may break out, he’s had a combined 79 receptions for 1034 yards and eight touchdowns. For a guy once considered to be a legitimate deep threat due to his leaping ability and prowess to high-point the football, Doctson has struggled to get open down the field do to his lack of true deep speed, suddenness and route running. He does better underneath against a soft zone, but has shown zero ability to produce yardage after the catch - something the Redskins desperately need, and his lack of physicality against corners is alarming. If another teams believes they can maximize Doctson’s skill-set in their offense, it may behoove the Redskins to at least engage in trade talks and see if a team may be willing to give up a pick for the struggling receiver. Doctson still has his 5th year option, which would need to be picked up by his new team in early May. Sometimes a change of scenery may do a player some good.
