Economy Caps and Multi-Character Restrictions

The most impactful change is the introduction of strict account-wide limitations on Kinah generation and dungeon farming. These rules directly target multi-character farming strategies and macro-driven gold generation.

Account-wide daily Kinah cap

Field grinding is now limited to a total of 1,000,000 Kinah per account per day. Once this threshold is reached, all field-based Kinah drops are disabled until the next reset.

This alone changes the rhythm of play. Instead of extended grinding sessions, players are encouraged to treat open-world farming as a short, optimized burst activity rather than a main income source.

Expedition and dungeon diminishing returns

Dungeon farming has also been heavily rebalanced through weekly completion brackets that reduce Kinah efficiency as total runs increase:

Up to 63 runs: 100% Kinah rate
64–77 runs: 80% Kinah rate
78–91 runs: 60% Kinah rate
92–105 runs: 40% Kinah rate
106+ runs: 20% Kinah rate

This system effectively discourages excessive alt cycling. While you can still run dungeons on multiple characters, the returns drop fast enough that only your earliest weekly clears are truly valuable.

Transcendence weekly scaling

A similar mechanic applies to Transcendence content. Weekly rewards scale downward after repeated clears, eventually reaching a minimum payout level of around 20% once you exceed 64 runs per week.

The intention is clear: reward variety and efficiency, not repetition abuse.

Abyss duration limits

The Abyss remains a special case. While it bypasses normal field Kinah caps, it introduces a weekly time restriction instead. You can still farm efficiently there, but only within a limited duration window.

This creates a high-value, high-pressure farming zone where timing matters more than raw hours spent grinding.

Kinah Buff Adjustments and Odyle Energy System

Alongside the hard caps, the update introduces softer efficiency systems that reduce returns over time rather than shutting them off completely. This is most visible in the Odyle Exploration system and dungeon reward structure.

Odyle Exploration scaling

Odyle-based farming now follows a steep diminishing curve:

Runs 1–7: 100% Kinah efficiency
Runs 8–14: 60% efficiency
Runs 15–20: 20% efficiency
21+ runs: 0% Kinah gain

This system heavily favors short, optimized farming sessions rather than continuous repetition. Once you pass the early efficient window, continuing to farm becomes largely wasteful in terms of Kinah return.

Bound Kinah from dungeons

A major structural change is the introduction of untradeable “Bound Kinah” from daily dungeon rewards. This currency is locked to character progression and can only be used for enhancement and gear-related systems.

This effectively separates personal progression from market wealth. You can no longer funnel dungeon earnings into the broker economy, which reduces inflation pressure and stabilizes trade-based pricing.

Premium currency exchange loop

A more controversial addition is the formalized exchange system between Kinah and premium Quna. Players can now convert currency through an official marketplace system where exchange rates are influenced by player demand.

This creates a semi-free market loop between premium and in-game currency, giving more structure to what was previously informal trading behavior.

At the same time, it introduces a new layer of economic strategy, especially for players who monitor price fluctuations and optimize conversions at the right time.

Strategy: Adapting to the New Progression Meta

With these systems combined, traditional “endless grind” progression is no longer effective. Efficiency now depends on timing, prioritization, and activity rotation rather than raw playtime.

Here’s how most players should approach their weekly routine under the new economy rules.

1. Prioritize Bound Kinah first

Start your daily cycle with dungeon runs that award Bound Kinah. Since this currency is locked to enhancement systems, it directly impacts your gear progression and cannot be replaced by market income.

Completing these early ensures you secure your core upgrade resources before hitting any account-wide caps elsewhere.

2. Use your high-efficiency farming window

The first 63 dungeon or expedition runs per week are your most valuable resource. This is where you should concentrate your main character and strongest alts.

Once you start moving into reduced efficiency brackets, continued farming becomes significantly less profitable. Smart players will stop or switch activities once they approach diminishing returns rather than pushing blindly into low-efficiency tiers.

Similarly, field grinding should be monitored carefully. Once you near the 1,000,000 Kinah daily cap, additional farming outside instanced content becomes pointless.

3. Shift focus toward crafting and gathering

Because raw Kinah generation is heavily restricted, life skills have become a major alternative income source.

Gathering materials during downtime and converting them into high-demand consumables or enhancement materials is now one of the most reliable ways to generate tradeable wealth. These items bypass most of the new grinding limitations since they operate through the broker economy rather than direct drops.

This shift effectively pushes the economy toward player interaction and production rather than raw farming throughput.

The economy overhaul in Aion 2 represents a clear direction shift: less about raw grinding power, more about controlled efficiency and system engagement.

For casual players, this can feel like a restriction on freedom. For long-term progression, however, it creates a more structured environment where effort is distributed across multiple systems instead of concentrated in repetitive farming loops.

The key takeaway is simple: the new economy no longer rewards how long you play, but how intelligently you use your limited high-value windows.
