How to Switch Seasons in Forza Horizon 6

If you've been putting miles into Forza Horizon 6, you already know how stunning the changing seasons look. One week you’re tearing up dry summer asphalt, and the next you're sliding around on winter ice. But let’s be honest—sometimes you just aren't in the mood for the current weekly weather. Maybe you just bought a rear-wheel-drive supercar and want a dry summer day to test it, but the game has locked you into a rainy autumn storm.

If you are looking for a magic button in the pause menu to instantly change the season of the live open world, you won't find one. The game’s main free-roam map runs on a global server clock. Everyone playing online experiences the exact same weather at the exact same time, and the seasons rotate automatically every seven real-world days on Thursday.

When the live server is about to switch, the game will give you a 10-minute warning countdown banner at the top of your screen before reloading the map into the next phase of the rotation. For reference, the standard weekly live schedule always follows this repeating order:

Summer (Wet Season)

Autumn (Stormy Season)

Winter (Dry/Snowy Season)

Spring (Hot/Blossom Season)

The EventLab Sandbox Trick
Even though you can't change the live server, you don't actually have to wait a month for your favorite season to come back around. You can completely bypass this restriction using the EventLab tool. It’s essentially a built-in sandbox workaround that lets you force the game into whatever season you want.

Here is exactly how to do it:

Find a Race: Drive up to any standard race event icon on your world map and enter it just like you normally would.

Open the Custom Builder: Instead of starting the regular race, select the Create Blueprint option to open EventLab.

Adjust the Environment: Head into the Event Settings menu. This is where you get full control. You can choose any of the four seasons (Spring, Summer, Autumn, or Winter), dial in the specific weather, and pick the time of day.

Lock the Settings: Make sure to switch the time progression setting to Fixed. This prevents the time of day or lighting from shifting around while you are trying to enjoy your ideal driving conditions.

Treat it as Free Roam: Launch the event. Once you load in, simply ignore the race route, checkpoints, and finish line. The entire map is yours to use as a personal sandbox. You can drift, test top speeds, or take photos in your chosen season for as long as you want.

When you’re done, just quit the event to head back to the main game. It only takes a minute to set up, and it is easily the best way to get total control over your driving environment without waiting out the weekly server resets.
